Terms and Conditions

This English text is provided for convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.

1. SCOPE

These terms and conditions (AGB) apply to all contracts, deliveries and other services provided by the restaurant UNKAI Karlsruhe (hereinafter referred to as the "Restaurant") in its dealings with the customer. Any deviating terms put forward by the customer are not recognised unless the Restaurant expressly agrees to their application in writing.

2. OPENING HOURS AND RESERVATIONS

Opening hours

The Restaurant's opening hours are published on the website and displayed on the premises. The Restaurant reserves the right to change its opening hours at any time. It may also stay closed without prior notice for special events or for operational reasons.

Reservations

Reservations can be made by telephone, by e-mail or through the online reservation system on our website. A reservation is not binding until the Restaurant has confirmed it. The Restaurant reserves the right to accept reservations for a limited period of time only.

If guests arrive more than 15 minutes late, the Restaurant cannot guarantee that the reserved table is still available. In the event of a no-show without prior cancellation, the Restaurant reserves the right to decline that customer's future reservations.

3. PRICES AND PAYMENT TERMS

All prices are in euros and include statutory VAT. Prices are subject to change, and errors are excepted. The prices that apply are those in force at the time of ordering.

Payment is made on site at the restaurant. Cash and German debit cards (EC card / girocard) are accepted. Credit card payment is only possible from a minimum amount of €20.

For larger events or groups of 8 people or more, a deposit may be required. The amount of the deposit is set case by case and agreed with the customer.

4. CANCELLATIONS

Reservations should be cancelled at least 24 hours before the agreed time. In the case of late cancellations or no-shows, the Restaurant reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, particularly for larger groups or special events.

The following applies to the cancellation of events:

  • Cancellation up to 7 days before the date: free of charge
  • Cancellation 3-6 days before the date: 50% of the agreed minimum spend
  • Cancellation less than 3 days before the date, or a no-show: 100% of the agreed minimum spend

5. VOUCHERS

Vouchers are valid for three years from the date of issue and cannot be paid out in cash. They cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts. Lost vouchers will not be replaced. Vouchers are transferable.

6. LIABILITY

The Restaurant is liable for damages – on whatever legal grounds – only in cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of its legal representatives or vicarious agents.

The Restaurant accepts no liability for guests' coats and personal belongings, unless the loss or damage is attributable to grossly negligent or intentional conduct by the Restaurant or its staff.

Parents are liable for their children.

7. HOUSE RULES

The Restaurant exercises house rights (Hausrecht). It reserves the right to refuse guests entry to the restaurant, or to require them to leave, without giving reasons, where this appears necessary to maintain safety and order or to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions.

8. DATA PROTECTION

The data provided by the customer is stored and processed electronically by the Restaurant solely for the purpose of performing the contract and looking after the customer, in compliance with data protection law as applicable from time to time. The data is not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to perform the contract.

Further details on how we handle data can be found in our privacy policy.

9. FINAL PROVISIONS

Amendments or additions to these terms and conditions must be made in writing. This also applies to any waiver of the written form requirement.

Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be or become invalid or unenforceable, whether from the outset or after the contract has been concluded, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected.

German law applies, to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The place of performance and place of jurisdiction is Karlsruhe, to the extent legally permissible.
